As a 2L, I interviewed with Important Firm at on campus interviews. It was my first interview of the program and I felt very uncomfortable in my brand new and ill-fitting suit. Needless to say, I wasn't able to show off my full sparkle and shine and ultimately got a rejection letter. No matter, I told myself, because I had plenty of great offers.
As a 3L, I decided I didn't want to go back to Unprofessional, LLP, the firm I worked at the prior summer. Instead, I sought another place to call home. I dropped off my resume to Important Firm's recruiting suite and subsequently received a polite rejection email saying that they were not hiring any 3Ls.
I spoke to the Office of Career Services and my favorite counselor told me that Important Firm was hiring for the LA office. But how could that be?! They told me they weren't hiring! I submitted my materials to the firm again. OCS vouched for me and my awesomeness. This time, I got a call for a telephone screening interview, then was invited to interview in the LA office.
I just got a call with the job offer.
Persistence is key. And now I have the job I wanted the most before I ever went to law school.
go watch this movie and tell me how it is
